In the course of the project period, there may be a requirement to make changes to the subcontract (for example, change of project period, rebudgeting, need for additional funds, or other changes). Any changes to the subcontract must be agreed to in writing between Tufts and the collaborating institution. For example, when a new year of funds is awarded, at least two changes are automatically required: – the additional funds will increase, the total amount of the award, and – because this is an additional budget period, the budget or performance period is changed to reflect the new dates.
Any contract can be amended as long as it doesn’t contradict the terms of the sponsor’s prime agreement and all the parties agree to the changes (come to a “meeting of the minds”). The amendment is prepared and signed off by all authorized representatives.
